Taona Zhou

Acting Managing Director

 Taona is an Associate member of the Chartered Governance and Accountancy Institute in Zimbabwe (ACGI). He was previously Assistant Accountant at Zimpost heading the Agency portfolio for 5 years. Prior to that he worked for 8 years as Accountant for St Giles Medical Centre, a social welfare Organization specializing in the rehabilitation of physically handicapped individuals. He started his accounting career at Star Africa where he worked in various accounting positions for 10 years .

Taona holds a MSc. Applied Accounting and BCom in Accounting from Great Zimbabwe University

 

Sheila Hawa Sidambe

(Chairperson)

A banker, with 16 years banking experience and awarded a silver lending license. A holder of an Institute of Bankers qualification majored in Bank Credit Management with Damelin SA and a MBA holder. An entrepreneur in retail and export markets. Founder and chairperson of Gentle Touch, a private voluntary organization (PVO)working with abused children, distributing pads to the underprivileged and spreading awareness on environmental issues. Previously served as board member at NIEEB, Nust Technopark, EMA and Potraz/Zimpost. Currently the Chairperson of Mosi OA Tunya Development Company (MOTDC) and board member at Ziscosteel. Served as Provincial Executive of Federation of National Association of Women In Business in Eastern and Southern Africa (FEMCO ), Past Vice President of Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce (ZNCC)Matabeleland Region and Current Chairperson, Women’s Desk, Bulawayo. Also the Secretary General for Women In Tourism, National chapter Zimbabwe

Desmond Matete

Dep. Chairperson

Desmond is an accomplished commercial lawyer with over 29years of experience in industry and commerce. He is a development finance specialist and a versatile investment banker with expertise in project finance, corporate finance, infrastructure finance; financial and transaction advisory services. He is a founder of New Frontier Capital Africa an emerging markets transaction advisory and financial consultancy firm established in 2013. He is the Chairman of the ZSE listed diversified regional insurance services group, Zimre Holdings Limited and Deputy Chairman of Mosi oa Tunya Development Company (Private) Limited; he is a non-executive director of Financial Securities Exchange (Private) Limited (Finsec). He previously worked as the Director of Infrastructure Projects at the Infrastructure Development Bank of Zimbabwe (IDBZ) and served on Zesa Holdings Group directorate as deputy Chairman of Zimbabwe Power Company amongst other directorships he held in industry and commerce over the years. He has superintended capital raising mandates for high-value infrastructure across various sectors of the economy including renewable energy and climate finance projects in Zimbabwe. He holds Bachelor of Laws Honours degree (LLB Hons) from the University of Zimbabwe and a Master of Commerce in Development Finance (MCom Development Finance) from the University of Cape Town’s Graduate School of Business. He is the senior partner of D Matete & Co. Commercial Law Chambers, a commercial law firm with offices in Harare. Desmond is also an Assessor of the High Court – Admin Court Division.

Eng. Irene Kamutero - Goto

 Eng. Irene is a Professional Engineer with over 20 years of engineering experience gained from working in infrastructure projects at, inter alia, the Air Force of Zimbabwe, Unilever Zimbabwe, Old Mutual Property, Zimbabwe Power Company and the Infrastructure and Development Bank of Zimbabwe (IDBZ). She is currently the Director – Independent Evaluations, (and former Director – Infrastructure Projects – Housing, Health, Education and Tourism Sectors) at the IDBZ. She is a Certified Project Management Practitioner, a member of the Zimbabwe Institute of Engineers, Women in Engineering, Engineering Council of Zimbabwe and also the ZIE Country Representative in the Construction Work Group of the Federation of African Engineering Organizations.

Eng. Irene is a Board Member of Mosi Oa Tunya Development Company, where she chairs the Planning and Projects Development Committee of the Board and is a member of the Audit Committee. She is also a Council Member at NUST where she chairs the Campus Development Committee of Council, in addition to being a member of EXCO and Investments Committees of Council. She is a past member of the University Council for Lupane State University (Campus Development and Risk Committees).

Eng Irene is pursuing a Doctorate in Strategic Management at Chinhoyi University of Technology and currently holds a Master of Science degree in Manufacturing Systems and Operations Management; a BSc Honours in Mechanical Engineering (both from the University of Zimbabwe), a Diploma in Project Management, a Diploma in Draughting and Design Technology (from Harare Polytechnic) and a Certificate in Monitoring and Evaluation.

 

Aaron Chingombe

 

 

 

 

 

Aaron is a corporate leader, with vast experience in the management and development of enterprise in Hospitality and Tourism services, Marketing and Quality Management Systems, Business Planning, Project formulation, Budgeting and Management, Resource Mobilisation, Relationship Management and Project Management. He also has experience in wildlife tourism, public presentations and training. He is currently the Tourism and Quality Assurance Manager at Parks and Wildlife Management Authority. Formally Marketing Manager with Parks and Wildlife Management Authority, Sikumi Tree Lodge, Khatshana Lodge, Sable Valley Lodge, Bulawayo Rainbow Hotel and Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe as the Tourism Executive of Matabeleland North Province and Head/Senior Analyst Tourism, Tour Guiding and Business Consultancy Services. Aaron is the current Chair of Marketing Committee for Hospitality Association of Zimbabwe, Board and Trustee of Mzingwane Old Boys Association.

Aaron holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in Hospitality and Tourism, Master of Commerce degree in Marketing Strategy

  Patience Zenda

A polished bureaucrat, Patience is a Professional Administrator with a 28 years’ experience in the Public Finance Management of which 17 years are at Director level. She has worked in different Ministry within the Government and is now with the Ministry of Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare.  Within the above portfolio, her main responsibilities were; budget formulation, control, monitoring and management of public funds, being the custodian of Government assets and ensuring effective and efficient utilisation of these assets. Patience has accomplished a great deal during her professional career.

An experienced board member, who set in the ZESA board from 2011 to 2013, Air Zimbabwe Board 2014 to 2016, member of the Management Committee for the Metrological Fund 2019 to 2023 and Mosi OA Tunya from September 2021 to date. One of her major achievements is, as part of the board appointed to turn around the fortunes of Air Zimbabwe, she was part of the team who helped return the national airline to the skies and increase its route network after years of not flying.

Patience holds a Master’s Degree in Public Sector Management from Africa University, ICSAZ Diploma and ICAZ Certificate in International Public Sector Accounting Standards (PSAS).  She is also an Associate Member of ICSAZ, all which attests to her commitment to her profession.

Patience is an advocate for Women Empowerment, a vibrant upcoming Farmer, and an avid proponent of governance. She walks the talk.

Rose Mukogo

Rose is an accomplished leader with over 30 years of experience operating at strategic level, having sat on numerous boards of both public and private sectors, and at an operational level, having worked her way up from an entry role in a Government Ministry rising to the office of Chief Executive Officer in a State Owned Enterprise. These roles have involved the business processes related to the delivery of goods and services which has culminated in the special interest of sustainable management of natural resources.

Rose has sat on several boards including but not limited to the Zimbabwe Newspapers Group of Companies, Zimbabwe Parks And Wildlife Management Authority, the Forestry Commission of Zimbabwe, the Minerals Marketing Corporation of Zimbabwe and latest the Mosi oa Tunya Pvt (Ltd) Board. She has set on diverse committees such as  Finance, Legal, Risk, HR, Business Development, Audit Committee and others.

Rose has also built credibility as an advisor across Africa due to her experience in founding and running the boutique consulting firm Green Tourism Services (GTS) which has reach across Africa having consulted for the New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD), the Regional Tourism Organization of Southern Africa (RETOSA) and the World Bank to name a few.

Chinengundu Comfort

Comfort is a dedicated professional, with a passion for driving transformative change and fostering growth in dynamic business environments. With a solid scholastic foundation, iced with close to 15 years hands-on in the Tourism and Hospitality industry, his extensive experience in the field has equipped him with a deep understanding of the nuances of the market, enabling him to identify emerging trends and capitalize on untapped potential.

His remarkable journey in the corporate world includes involvement with companies like the Rainbow Tourism Group, Abseil Victoria Falls, Abseil Zambia, Ilala Lodge Hotel and Regal Tours & Safaris among others, all at various levels such as Business Consulting Partner, Entrepreneur, Director and Manager. This has allowed him to explore the depths of the industry, breaking new grounds and uncovering unique opportunities for growth and innovation. As a seasoned Adventure Tourism Expert and Author as well as, Team Building Coach, Comfort has had the privilege of working with diverse teams across Africa in countries inclusive of Zimbabwe, Zambia, Botswana, South Africa, and Ghana, bridging cultural gaps and fostering collaboration to achieve remarkable results. By leveraging his expertise and insights, he is committed to driving the company and the industry at large towards new horizons of success and sustainability.

Comfort, holds a Master of Business Leadership from Lupane State University and a Bachelor of Commerce Honours Degree in Tourism and Hospitality Management from the Midlands State University.

Stabile M Moyo

Legal Officer

 Sithabile holds an LLB (Hons) from the University of Venda and a postgraduate diploma in Corporate Governance and Strategic Management. She began as a legal advisor, served in government, and later joined Mosi Oa Tunya Development Company, where she now focuses on corporate and business law.
